Ștefan Radu Oprea made a post on Facebook in which he explained that he has no convictions on his criminal record, amid speculation that he might be charged in a tax evasion case. Oprea mentioned that the case was sent to trial, but the judges decided to dismiss the prosecution and prosecutors did not consider it necessary to send him to trial. He also clarified that he stepped down as a director of the companies in 2012, as required by law. This discussion came in the wake of the scandal surrounding former deputy prime minister Dragos Anastasiu, who admitted to giving bribes.
