George Simion responded to Peter Magyar, the winner of the parliamentary elections in Hungary, who accused the AUR leader of "dancing on the graves of Hungarian war heroes, on the graves of our ancestors".
"Congratulations, Péter Magyar. I am glad that you had fair elections – we lack that in Romania. To be clear: I have never danced on the graves of your people, I do not have Zsolt's talent," referring to politician Zsolt Hegedus, who was caught dancing after Magyar's victory.
Simion also tried to create a symbolic connection between himself and Magyar, stating that they are both "marathon boys".
Finally, the AUR leader offered a political advice, warning Magyar to be careful with how he manages the funds from Ursula von der Leyen, highlighting the tense relationship between Hungary and the European Union. Magyar, who is preparing to take power after 16 years of Orban's government, stated that his new government will mark the beginning of a new era for Hungary, promising a complete transformation of the system.
