George Simion, the leader of the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR), stated at a press conference in Parliament that his party is requesting the organization of early elections. Simion asserted that AUR will not support the formation of a Government without having an active role in governance, emphasizing the need for a stable parliamentary majority for the next four years.
He criticized the recent nominations for the position of prime minister, mentioning that they do not bring any difference compared to the dismissed Government. Simion accused Nicușor Dan of violating the Constitution by excluding AUR from political discussions, stating that this insults a significant part of Romanian citizens. He also criticized Ilie Bolojan for not resigning from the position of prime minister after his dismissal.
