On Monday, at the Union Monument in Alba Iulia, Călin Georgescu, accused in two criminal cases, including for attempted coup d'état, was welcomed with bread and salt by hundreds of supporters. Tensions arose when a protester shouted "March to Moscow!", being immediately pushed away by fans.
Georgescu managed with difficulty to reach the stage, where he delivered a speech about the significance of December 1st, emphasizing the importance of assuming national responsibility. He criticized the political class and called for an "internal struggle" against collective passivity, concluding with a message of unity.
The event was heavily promoted on social media, and Georgescu was accused of involvement in violent plans to change the constitutional order.
