Negotiations between President Nicușor Dan and Ilie Bolojan, the favorite for Prime Minister, ended without an agreement on fiscal measures, in particular the VAT increase. Bolojan proposed to increase VAT from 19% to 21%, but Nicușor Dan refused, remaining firm. After the meeting, the Liberals asked for clarification and PSD announced that it would not support a technocrat government. All parties involved are holding emergency meetings to discuss the current political deadlock.
