Victor Negrescu, Vice President of the European Parliament, met on Friday with Mathias Cormann, Secretary-General of the OECD, to discuss Romania's accession process to the international organization. Negrescu stated that Romania has practically fulfilled all requirements, with only one chapter left to negotiate, that regarding trade.

Once the trade agreement between the European Union and the United States is approved, all chapters will be closed. The Secretary-General of the OECD appreciated the broad political support for Romania's accession, emphasizing its importance for investor confidence and for implementing more effective public policies.

Negrescu highlighted that accession to the OECD will bring economic benefits, including increased investments and better standards in education and health. He expressed hope that the final decision regarding Romania's accession will be made quickly, emphasizing that the final vote also depends on the USA.
