Alexandru Rogobete, proposed as health minister in the government led by Luca Niculescu, rejects the allegations made by ousted Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, who claimed that the Ministry of Health allocated insufficient funds at the beginning of the year for the operation of emergency reception units.
Rogobete says there was neither irresponsibility nor incompetence, nor any premeditated action. He maintains that, in 2025, the Health budget was supplemented twice, while the Emergency Reception Unit of Floreasca Hospital reached an executed budget of 10 million lei for the entire year.
For the current year, the Ministry of Health reportedly requested 660 million lei for the emergency care component, but 460 million lei was allocated—200 million below the estimated requirement. According to Rogobete, the funds were distributed based on budget execution over the past two years and the limits of the approved budget.
The former minister says the difference between the requested and allocated amounts must be analyzed in the context of reducing the budget deficit. He calls for a public debate based on complete data and accuses officials of providing false information in communications regarding emergency care funding.
