Former Health Minister Alexandru Rogobete called on Monday for the urgent allocation of funds from the Government’s reserve for hospitals that claim they no longer have money for medicines and medical supplies. He described the situation as “unprecedented” and accused the Bolojan Government of delaying the resolution of the crisis.

Rogobete stated that some medical facilities have begun using emergency stockpiles intended for mass-casualty incidents, while budgets for ICU, stroke, and heart attack programs are running low. According to him, Brad Hospital had only one dose of thrombolytic left for heart attack patients.

The former minister warned that the lack of supplies in emergency departments could put lives at risk. At the “C.C. Iliescu” Institute of Cardiovascular Emergency Diseases, operations are expected to be suspended starting Friday due to financial and supply problems.

Rogobete claimed that CNAS did not transfer funds in September for cardiovascular disease and cardiovascular surgery programs.

He rejected accusations that the 2026 budget had been improperly calculated and said that the Ministry of Health had requested 660 million lei for emergency care but received 490 million.

The situation is aggravated by the fact that the interim Government cannot adopt the budget rectification.
