Health Minister Alexandru Rogobete announced Thursday that the Ministry of Health had identified and reallocated 150 million lei to fund emergency departments and ambulance services across the country. The money comes from a restructuring of existing resources and will support the operation of these essential medical services.
Rogobete said the measure was established together with the ministry’s team, following an analysis of ongoing projects and available funding mechanisms. According to the minister, some of the projects identified allow certain mechanisms to be postponed by 30–40 days, until the budget rectification, without compromising their continuation.
The reallocation of funds targets both emergency departments, which handle serious and urgent medical cases, and ambulance services in all counties. The decision aims to maintain operational funding during a period in which budgetary resources are being reassessed.
The minister did not provide details about the exact distribution of the 150 million lei or the projects whose mechanisms will be temporarily postponed. These elements are to be clarified as part of the budget rectification.
