The president of PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, announced that the social democrats will not vote in Parliament for the USR proposal for the position of Ombudsman, Roxana Rizoiu, who benefits from a special pension. Grindeanu requested USR to propose a person without a special pension, emphasizing that if this requirement is met, PSD will support the new proposal. He criticized USR for the inconsistency between the theoretical support for the elimination of special pensions and the current proposal.

Roxana Rizoiu, a former official in the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is supported by USR, which considers her extremely qualified. In contrast, the Minister of Defense, Radu Miruță, stated that not all beneficiaries of special pensions are corrupt, emphasizing that he is against the idea of a special pension, while acknowledging that not all special pensioners are "toxic".
