PSD has announced that it will not attend the coalition meeting because of USR's behavior regarding the funeral of former president Ion Iliescu. Sorin Grindeanu criticized USR for its "lack of political maturity" and demanded respect for Iliescu. The conflict escalated after USR refused national mourning, citing respect for the victims of the Revolution. Marcel Ciolacu intervened, denouncing USR's attacks as "morbid propaganda" and called on colleagues to ignore "political sanctimony".
