The interim president of PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, announced that he will propose November 30 as the date for the Bucharest City Hall elections, with the coalition expected to decide on Tuesday. Grindeanu mentioned that Gabriela Firea and Daniel Băluță have real chances of being candidates, and the final decision will be made based on sociological measurements. He emphasized that all coalition partners agree on separate candidacies.
If the political agreements are not respected, PSD could decide to leave the coalition. Grindeanu has had discussions with Firea and Băluță to establish the candidacy strategy. There is also discussion about the possibility of the elections taking place on December 7, if PSD and USR agree to go with their own candidates. Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan suggested organizing the elections on the last Sunday of November or the first Sunday of December.
