Daniel Zamfir, the leader of the PSD senators, stated that the party expects to withdraw political support for Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, following internal consultations. Zamfir emphasized that Romania needs to change its direction, considering the tensions within the coalition and the controversial decisions of the government. He mentioned that PSD will not support a minority government and ruled out collaboration with AUR.
Zamfir criticized Bolojan's leadership style, stating that the current direction is wrong and that the pilot of the government needs to be changed. In the event that Bolojan does not resign, PSD could initiate a motion of censure, considering it a responsibility to react when the country is heading in the wrong direction. Additionally, Zamfir defended PSD's previous investments, arguing that they were essential for Romania's development.
