The National Political Council of the PSD meets to finalize the organizational details ahead of the congress scheduled for Friday and to adopt amendments to the Statute, abandoning the idea of a progressive party.

On Thursday, the National Political Council of the PSD will meet at Vila Lac to finalize the last organizational details before the congress scheduled for Friday. Interim President Sorin Grindeanu, the only candidate for the party leadership, has proposed an amendment to the Statute that clarifies the identity and doctrinal direction of the PSD. This amendment involves abandoning the characterization of the party as progressive, emphasizing that the PSD is a modern center-left, national, and balanced party. Grindeanu states that the new wording reflects the party's values and social responsibility, without ideological ambiguities. During the congress, Grindeanu will present a leadership team consisting of five first vice-presidents and 20 vice-presidents, with Claudiu Manda proposed for the position of general secretary.
