The general secretary of the PSD, Claudiu Manda, announced that the party's option for prime minister is Sorin Grindeanu and that he would see the existence of a pro-Western construction for the new government.
Claudiu Manda said that from the PSD's point of view, they see two options, a pro-Western construction with a majority in Parliament, and the second would be entering the opposition.
He also ruled out again a PSD-AUR government. Manda emphasized that the PSD is waiting for consultations from Cotroceni, which President Nicușor Dan would have already started after the fall of the Bolojan government on Tuesday.
According to him, the PSD is also waiting for things to "calm down" after the statements and decisions made in haste, referring to the PNL's decision to enter the opposition.
"We consider that these are hasty statements and decisions. We are waiting for things to calm down. The National Liberal Party had previously stated that it would no longer have any discussions with the Democratic Party, until they ended up merging," Manda stated.
Manda also came up with a name for prime minister, if the PSD were to give the prime minister.
"If there is an invitation for the PSD to give the prime minister, we do not shy away from this responsibility. And the name that the PSD will propose is Sorin Grindeanu," Manda said.
