The Secretary General of PNL, Dan Motreanu, stated in an interview on Digi24 that Sorin Grindeanu does not have the necessary credibility to hold the position of Prime Minister, emphasizing that the PSD leader does not have sufficient public support to implement economic reforms in the current crisis context. Motreanu also criticized the management of political tensions by President Nicușor Dan, who should have prevented the submission of the motion of censure against the Bolojan Government.
He stated that PNL will no longer collaborate with PSD and that there is a majority in Parliament formed by PSD and AUR. Motreanu mentioned that if PSD fails to form a new government, PNL is ready to try to form an Executive, but without social democrats. He also warned about the negative economic effects of the current political instability, emphasizing that Romania cannot afford a political crisis.
