Lia Olguța Vasilescu, the PSD mayor of Craiova, stated on Tuesday evening that, in the event that the PSD decides to leave the government, the social democrats will renounce all positions obtained through the Coalition protocol, including that of the President of the Chamber of Deputies, held by Sorin Grindeanu.

Lia Olguța Vasilescu emphasized that once the coalition is denounced, all positions obtained based on it are automatically lost. She also mentioned that the PSD cannot be blackmailed by parties that have obtained poor results in the elections.

In the context of political tensions, sources from PNL suggest that the liberals might request Grindeanu's resignation, while the social democrats argue that if his resignation is requested, Mircea Abrudean should also leave the leadership of the Senate. Vasilescu considered that forming a parliamentary majority without the indications of the parties from whose lists the parliamentarians were elected is an extremely difficult task.
