Lia Olguța Vasilescu, the mayor of Craiova, had a controversial intervention on Monday, April 20, in front of PSD members, criticizing Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan and Deputy Prime Minister Oana Gheorghiu. At the event at the Palace of Parliament, Vasilescu referred to Bolojan as "the big rat" and stated that "if we were to look in the dictionary for the definition of a crisis, it would be Bolojan's picture."
She also attacked Oana Gheorghiu, claiming that she has never led "in her life a flock of turkeys" and that she was drawing 5,000 euros a month from donations for children with cancer. The PSD is set to vote on Monday regarding the withdrawal of political support for Bolojan, during an internal consultation titled "The Moment of Truth." Approximately 5,000 PSD members are expected to express their vote online, responding to the question regarding the withdrawal of political support in the context of the current socio-economic crisis.
