Interim Deputy Prime Minister Oana Gheorghiu: "Strikes have been made without any openness for dialogue with the Ministry of Labor, they were encouraged by some PSD members"

Interim Prime Minister Oana Gheorghiu states that "for a very long time these bonuses, these excellence salaries have been used to create obedience, not competence," saying that she does not understand how some public sector employees are going on strike, even though the law increases salaries and brings billions of lei in addition to the salary fund for public system employees. 

"PSD, alongside AUR, dismissed a government without putting anything in place, without having a real solution. Moreover, they have put all possible obstacles to fulfilling the milestones from the PNRR, it seems they want to miss these milestones, which is incomprehensible. It seems to me that the strikes that have occurred... strikes were made without any openness for dialogue with the Ministry of Labor, and were encouraged by some PSD members. I respect everyone and I would like especially doctors and nurses to be well paid and this law comes to increase salaries for two-thirds of the people in the public system. It is natural that those who earned more in the past should wait, that is the only thing this law provides and which annoys some. I have said before: I do not understand how people go on strike because their salaries are being increased," declared Oana Gheorghiu, Tuesday evening, on B1 TV.
