Victor Negrescu, Vice President of the European Parliament, stated that the United States cannot win the competition in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) without a solid partnership with Europe, considering the global rivalry with China. In an interview, Negrescu emphasized that the US has approximately 4,000 data centers, while Europe has 3,000, and to remain competitive, both parties need to collaborate and invest together nearly 7 trillion dollars by 2030. He highlighted the huge costs required for the development of this sector and stressed the importance of a common policy regarding minerals and raw materials.

Negrescu also mentioned the need for a common strategy regarding China, emphasizing that discussions between US and Chinese leaders must be preceded by a careful analysis of competition and the Western model of transforming artificial intelligence.
