PNL MEP Siegfried Mureșan states that President Nicușor Dan will have to decide between a reformist majority led by Ilie Bolojan and a PSD-AUR one, which would like to turn Romania back to the past.

PNL MEP Siegfried Mureșan said on Digi24 that President Nicușor Dan will have to choose between a majority built around Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan or a PSD-AUR majority which, in his opinion, "wants to turn Romania back to the past".

"Through joint actions alongside AUR, the Social Democratic Party reminds us of its recent past, when it was an anti-European party, when it was a party that attacked justice and the rule of law, attacked European values and attacked the institutions of the European Union. If the Social Democratic Party brings down this government, we, the National Liberal Party, will not form a majority with the Social Democratic Party. With AUR, we will not form a government anyway, that is very clear. And we will also see what the President of Romania will support. But I believe that the President of Romania remains a reformer and I do not believe that he will support a majority that turns Romania back to the past," said Mureșan.
