The Minister of Labor, Florin Manole, announced that negotiations for increasing the minimum wage are ongoing, and a decision is expected next week. He emphasized that if the minimum wage is not increased, approximately 2 million citizens will lose purchasing power monthly, and the state will suffer significant financial losses.
Manole highlighted that Romania is facing poverty among workers, which is unacceptable. Although there have been opinions from employers to maintain the current minimum wage, he believes there are still opportunities for negotiation. Increasing the minimum wage could have a positive impact on budget collection. Manole reaffirmed the PSD's commitment to raising the minimum wage, emphasizing that each party in the coalition has a say in this decision.
