Marcel Ciolacu, former Prime Minister, could run for the Buzău County Council, according to Buzău PSD President Romeo Lungu. The post became vacant after the resignation of Lucian Romașcanu, who was elected in 2024 and left for the European Court of Auditors. The position is currently temporarily held by Adrian Petre, vice president of the CJ. Ciolacu confirmed that he does not rule out this candidacy.
