The President of the Right Force, Ludovic Orban, launched a vehement attack against President Nicușor Dan, accusing him of ignoring parliamentary evidence and continuing to support a governmental formula without real chances of obtaining the necessary majority for investment.
Orban presented on his Facebook page calculations showing that PNL, USR, UDMR, AUR, and SOS, which decided to vote against the investment of the new government, total 271 parliamentarians, to which at least five more who will not support the executive are added, thus reaching 276 votes against the investment.
Orban emphasized that, even in the case of internal defects, the government would not be able to recover the necessary votes and that "Veștea has no chance of obtaining the 233 votes needed for investment."
He called on Nicușor Dan to abandon the current governmental formula and to resume political negotiations to overcome the political crisis generated by PSD. Orban criticized Dan's ability to understand parliamentary arithmetic, suggesting that he should ask Veștea to resign and initiate new consultations with parliamentary parties.
"I cannot believe that a doctor in mathematics can remain failing in parliamentary arithmetic... Therefore, Mr. President, immediately conclude this new episode of the horror series in which you have been the main actor, on a script that I want to believe you did not write. Ask Veștea to resign and trigger a new round of consultations with parliamentary parties to identify possible solutions to overcome this political crisis triggered by PSD," concluded Ludovic Orban.
