The leader of UDMR, Kelemen Hunor, estimates that Romania will not have a new government until the end of the parliamentary session and argues that the parties need to reach an agreement by the end of July at the latest to overcome the political deadlock.
Kelemen Hunor emphasized that, from his perspective, a viable solution would be the formation of a majority government. In the event that the old coalition cannot be restored, Kelemen proposed an alternative: a government formed by PNL, PSD, and UDMR, with a prime minister acceptable to all parties involved.
The UDMR leader suggested that politicians from each party should be appointed for ministries, instead of frontline figures, similar to the structure of the previous government before the motion of censure.
