UDMR President Kelemen Hunor said on Wednesday that no tax increase would have the Union’s support, specifying that it is not necessary, not acceptable, and not affordable. He also stated that there is no difficult legacy, because the difficult legacy stems from the 10% deficit.
“No tax increase will have our support. What the Government does afterward, I cannot tell you, because what can the Government initiate? An emergency ordinance, in which case Parliament is faced with a fait accompli, or a bill, or a vote of confidence. If it issues an emergency ordinance, we can only amend it later in Parliament. But no increase in taxes and duties will have our support. No, there is no difficult legacy. The difficult legacy stems from the 10% deficit,” Kelemen Hunor emphasized.
