Kelemen Hunor, the president of UDMR, commented on the performance of the President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, stating that he would have acted differently in managing the current political crisis. In an interview, Hunor avoided direct criticism, mentioning that, although he has grievances, it is important to have a stable institution like the Presidency.
"I don't want to comment because I would have done something else, but the president knows this, my colleagues know this, I would have done something else, I don't want to criticize him at this moment, as there are enough people criticizing, and after all, the Government is a mess, the Parliament is a mess, still we need to have an institution that stands on its feet and that is the Presidency at this moment, with President Dan. So, I have my grievances, he knows this, I don't want to criticize him more publicly, because we need to have at least one institution that stands somewhat. Now I am not talking about the other state institutions, I am talking about the political institutions that have been elected, which have a direct responsibility towards the citizen," said Kelemen Hunor in an interview with Hotnews.
