The interim Prime Minister, Ilie Bolojan, said on Wednesday that there were two discussions with President Nicușor Dan regarding the lobby contract concluded by the Presidential Administration with the law firm Eversheds Sutherland (US) LLP on the topic of improving relations with the USA, one before the no-confidence motion and another in the Supreme Council of National Defense (CSAT).
Thus, according to Bolojan, the first discussion took place before the no-confidence motion, where topics related to the PNRR and the SAFE program were addressed, and the coalition leaders agreed to promote Romania's interests through a lobby contract.
The second discussion was within the CSAT, where the contract was voted for by the Presidential Administration.
Bolojan mentioned that Romania's ambassador to the USA, Andrei Muraru, also proposed such a contract to him during his interim presidency, but he could not make a decision.
