PNL President Ilie Bolojan declared on Thursday, after consultations with President Nicușor Dan, that the party would hold discussions with the designated prime minister, emphasizing that the latter’s challenge would be “maintaining control over public finances.”
“We have concluded the consultations. During this meeting, we presented PNL’s point of view. Romania needs a government with a credible prime minister, competent ministers, and a program that takes into account the realities of our economy,” declared PNL leader Ilie Bolojan, who emphasized that whoever is invested, “if they are invested, will face the challenge of maintaining control over public finances.”
“Because one of the gains was regaining control over public finances in order to limit our debt.”
According to Bolojan, “regardless of who it is, they will need to pursue projects in the energy sector so that energy prices are lower, and continue the reforms in public administration.”
“PNL will hold discussions with the prime minister who is designated, and provided that the program they propose and the team they propose respect these matters, we will seek to find a formula for having a government installed, so that Romania can maintain its credibility in the eyes of international markets,” Bolojan emphasized.
