The PNL delegation is participating today in the consultations convened by President Nicușor Dan at Cotroceni Palace, but the liberals will not put forward a proposal for the position of prime minister. The meeting is part of the president’s efforts to designate a candidate to lead the Government.
The delegation of the National Liberal Party will be led by the party’s president, Ilie Bolojan. Dan Motreanu, Mircea Abrudean, Oana Gheorghiu and Robert Sighiartău will also participate in the consultations, according to a statement issued by the party.
According to information from G4Media, the PNL has decided not to put forward any proposal for the position of prime minister. The liberals’ position will be presented during the discussions at Cotroceni, where the parties are being consulted regarding the formation of the future government.
At the end of the consultations, the head of state is expected to announce a new candidate for the position of prime minister. His designation will open the next stage of the Government-formation procedure, which includes establishing a parliamentary majority and obtaining a vote of confidence in Parliament.
