The president of PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, stated that, following the last coalition meeting, a consensus was reached regarding the need to stop budget cuts, which have not brought economic benefits. Grindeanu emphasized that cuts and layoffs do not constitute reforms, but have had negative effects on macroeconomic indicators.
He also mentioned that the real challenge will be the approval of the budget, in which PSD wishes to include a solidarity package and ensure funding for investments.
Grindeanu highlighted that PSD and USR support local taxes remaining with local authorities, a viewpoint also supported by Dominic Fritz from USR. In conclusion, the PSD leader expressed optimism that the momentum for cutting budgets has passed, and the coalition is moving towards a more constructive reform.
