Sorin Grindeanu, the president of PSD, stated that he does not consider AUR voters, who obtained 1.6 million votes, to be extremists. Grindeanu avoided classifying AUR as anti-Western or pro-Western, mentioning that there is no governing agreement between PSD and AUR, but only a specific agreement for the motion of censure.
Although he acknowledged that there are common points between the two parties, such as a nationalist economic vision, he emphasized that the divergences are significant. Grindeanu stated that PSD wants to return to power, but not alone, proposing the reconstitution of the former coalition with PNL, USR, and UDMR, excluding the option of a minority government. He emphasized that majorities can be formed without PSD, but that a governing formula without sufficient partners will not ensure the necessary stability.
