Sorin Grindeanu, first vice-president of PSD, stated that USR leaders, who have cases in Justice, should not discuss changing the laws of Justice, emphasizing that the current legislative package has contributed to the lifting of the Cooperation and Verification Mechanism (CVM) and to improving Romania's evaluations at the European level. Grindeanu stated that, although the laws can be improved, the European Union reports indicate progress in the field of Justice.
He criticized the excessive interference of politics in Justice, considering that recent initiatives to amend the legislation are politically motivated. The former Minister of Justice, Stelian Ion, criticized the current minister Radu Marinescu, accusing him of ignoring the issues discussed in the Government and not providing clear explanations in Parliament. Ion emphasized the need for Marinescu to be accountable for the current situation of Justice.
