<p>After Ilie Bolojan (PNL) and Sorin Grindeanu (PSD) turned down the post of prime minister due to fears over austerity measures, negotiations for a new government have stalled. President Nicușor Dan initially proposed Bolojan's name, but Bolojan reportedly refused. In this context, the possibility of appointing a technocrat prime minister has been discussed, with Anca Dragu, the current governor of the National Bank of Moldova, among the candidates. Lucian Croitoru, an adviser to the NBR, was also proposed, but turned down the offer.
