Before the incident reported by Marius Lulea, the dispute within AUR was fueled by controversies regarding his status and position within the organization. Lulea contested the expulsion, which was said to have been prompted by non-payment of membership dues, presenting bank documents that he claims would prove it, while the party leadership maintained the explanation related to membership dues.
At the same time, George Simion issued criticism and spoke about pressure on the party, announcing that AUR would not vote for a proposed government, while reaffirming his support for Călin Georgescu. At the same time, Simion rejected allegations regarding the involvement of AUR members in incidents during protests, calling for any such matter to be investigated criminally.
At the same time, signals of broader tensions within the party also emerged in the public sphere, including criticism from Lulea directed at Simion and calls for AUR to change the direction of its discourse. In this context, the AUR leader continued to convey harsh political messages and accuse opponents of “attacks” and “accusations” against him.
