The designated Prime Minister Eugen Tomac emerged from a meeting lasting approximately an hour and a half with PSD leaders, without specifying whether he received their support.

During the discussions, Tomac stated that the focus was on the government program, especially on measures regarding economic recovery. He emphasized the need to take into account the population's concerns related to taxes and levies.

At the same time, the designated prime minister conveyed to the PSD leadership that the Executive he proposes will adopt a cautious approach, so that the economic pressure on citizens is reduced.

"I assured the PSD leadership that the government I propose will be very careful and prudent so that Romanians no longer feel economic pressure," said Eugen Tomac.

He added that he also desires a climate of dialogue and solutions, emphasizing the objective of a pro-Western oriented government. Tomac is set to continue the series of consultations with other parliamentary parties, including UDMR, the National Minorities Group, and the Union for Romania, in order to gain the necessary support for forming the government.
