Eugen Tomac, the interim prime minister, posted a video message on Facebook in which he responded to the PNL's decision not to vote for the investment of the technocratic government. Tomac emphasized that he respects the liberals' choice to go into opposition, but he called for an end to demagoguery, reminding that the dismissed government was voted in by PSD.

He stated that he is optimistic and that all those who support Romania are welcome alongside him. PNL, through the voice of president Ilie Bolojan, argued that a government without political support is weaker and accused PSD of trying to escape responsibility for the current situation. Bolojan criticized the proposals of the technocratic government, considering them a way to avoid political responsibilities.
