The Minister of European Funds, Dragoș Pîslaru, stated that Romania must focus on accessing European funds to avoid economic recession. He emphasized that, although the economic situation is not ideal, the professionalization of the ministries of Finance and MIPE has improved the capacity to utilize available funds. Romania has access to tens of billions of euros from cohesion funds and the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), and the effective use of these resources is crucial.

Pîslaru estimated that Romania can attract 15 billion euros and emphasized that using these funds on existing projects is the necessary recovery plan, without the need for additional measures. He believes that as long as the funds are spent appropriately, the risks of recession or financial crisis are minimal.
