USR President Dominic Fritz accuses the AUR party of giving the Social Democrats “a helping hand” by being absent from the parliamentary committee meetings where ministers proposed for the government led by Luca Niculescu were questioned on Monday. According to the USR leader, all candidates proposed by PSD received favorable endorsements.
Fritz claims that the “voting machine” worked and that the absence of AUR lawmakers facilitated the formation of the majority needed to approve the ministers. He said that critical questions and votes against the candidates came from USR representatives, whose objections did not receive convincing answers.
The USR leader reaffirmed that his party would not support the investiture of the Luca Niculescu government. He criticized several proposed ministers, citing final convictions, losses of PNRR funds, plagiarism allegations, a lack of relevant experience, and controversies related to the management of certain reforms or strategic companies.
Dominic Fritz said that USR would not vote for an executive that, he claims, could block reforms and mislead Romania. He added that the party would continue to defend citizens’ interests and oppose measures it considers contrary to them.
