Claudiu Năsui, USR deputy, expressed concerns regarding a possible centralization of power within the party, in view of the Congress in February. Together with deputy Cristina Prună, he initiated an internal referendum to amend the USR Statute, proposing to limit the mandates of elected officials to a maximum of two. Năsui emphasized that USR is facing known issues and that it is time to organize to solve them, not to complain. He believes that the renewal of the party cannot be just a slogan and that a real reform is essential.
Cristina Prună added that USR must return to its fundamental principles, warning that without reform, the party will lose its relevance. The president of USR, Dominic Fritz, acknowledged the disappointment regarding the results of the elections for the Capital City Hall and announced the convening of a congress to discuss amendments to the statute and other structural changes.
