PSD Secretary General Claudiu Manda rejected on Friday reports that the party was preparing to suspend President Nicușor Dan. He stated that the issue was not on the party’s agenda and maintained that PSD was focused on forming a functional government, Romania’s stability, and economic recovery.
The reaction came after PNL Vice President Alexandru Muraru stated that the Social Democrats were preparing to suspend the president. Muraru also mentioned that, in the context of AUR’s initiative, 18 more votes would be needed to reach the required number of parliamentary signatures.
Manda accused PNL of demagoguery and criticized the government’s results, citing declining consumption, a rising number of insolvencies, and reduced purchasing power. He called on the parties to focus on the issues Romanians expect them to resolve, instead of prolonging political disputes.
The Social Democrat emphasized that Nicușor Dan had designated a prime minister and that the parties’ responsibility was to find a governing solution.
