Ciprian Ciucu, the general mayor of Bucharest, stated that the city risks bankruptcy if it does not have a budget of at least 5.5 billion lei by 2026. He emphasized that the accumulated deficit has reached 4 billion lei, caused by the systematic underfunding of the General Mayor’s Office by previous governments, which has led to a monthly deficit of approximately 200 million lei.

Ciucu proposed a change in the funding method of the Capital, which should be based on a predictable calculation, instead of political negotiations. He also criticized the behavior of the PSD in the General Council, which blocks important decisions. He emphasized the importance of collaborating with other parties to ensure a stable majority in the General Council, considering the financial difficulties faced by the mayor's office.
