The Constitutional Court of Romania has postponed the analysis of Nicușor Dan's request regarding the amendment of the law on cults to October 8.

The CCR received a complaint from President Nicușor Dan, who contests a law initiated by Deputy Silviu Vexler, which amends Law 489/2006 regarding religious freedom. This law provides penalties for exercising clerical functions without rights. Nicușor Dan previously challenged a law against antisemitism at the CCR, without success. The contested law was sent for promulgation on June 28, 2025.
