Former president Traian Băsescu stated in an interview that PSD has no intention of leaving the current governing coalition and will not form an alliance with AUR, thus contradicting political speculations. Băsescu emphasized the negative effects of a minority government, including a decrease in the country’s rating, rising interest rates, and difficulties in financing pensions and salaries. He considered that PSD's threats to leave the government are rather theatrical, emphasizing that the party is aware of the consequences of such a decision.
