Petrișor Peiu, the leader of the AUR senators, declared on Tuesday that his party does not intend to collaborate with the current governing coalition until the elections, refusing any form of support for a minority government. He emphasized that AUR will submit a motion of censure in every parliamentary session, with the aim of discussing the negative economic results of the government, especially after the publication of the economic data for the first quarter, on May 13.
Peiu mentioned that AUR is open to negotiations with any parliamentarian, not just with PSD, to support the motion of censure. He argued that a government cannot be considered minority if it is dismissed by parliamentary vote, emphasizing that the democratic solution is to organize early elections. Peiu stated that in Western democracies, a majority is formed through popular vote, not through political alliances.
