Petrișor Peiu, the leader of the AUR senators, stated that his party will not support a new government if it does not have representatives in it. In a statement at Parliament, Peiu emphasized that AUR will not vote for an executive that does not include members of the party, regardless of the name of the proposed prime minister. He criticized the idea of a technocratic prime minister, arguing that the popular vote should be reflected in the leadership of the country. Peiu insisted on the need for a political prime minister, emphasizing that technicians who gain votes in Parliament actually become politicians.
He also mentioned that President Nicușor Dan could organize a new round of consultations, but AUR remains firm in its position, refusing to support a government with the same program as the previous one, which led to the economic crisis.
