The leader of AUR, George Simion, announced that he went to the negotiations at Cotroceni with Nicușor Dan with a proposal for prime minister, but without nominating anyone.
"We are pleased that Nicușor Dan has changed his pace, much faster, much more to the point. Without AUR, it is not possible. The country is going through a complicated moment. Romania has been brought into this situation by weak governments," said George Simion, who emphasized that he came to Cotroceni with "a proposal for a program to exit the crisis and a proposal for AUR's prime minister."
Simion also stated that the party will support "only a government with an AUR prime minister."
"AUR has shown that the personal will of Nicușor Dan cannot override the will of the people. If he continues to violate the will of the Romanians, we will proceed with the suspension of Mr. Nicușor Dan," warned Simion.
He also said that "AUR is not an anti-Western party in any way, it is a supporter of the transatlantic partnership."
