Petrișor Peiu announced that AUR does not have enough signatures to initiate the suspension of President Nicușor Dan. George Simion launched the idea on social media.

George Simion, the leader of AUR, proposed the suspension of President Nicușor Dan, but Petrișor Peiu, the president of the National Council of AUR, stated that the party does not have the necessary number of signatures to initiate the parliamentary procedure.

"We, as a party, have 90 parliamentarians and we still have, let's say, the possibility to gather about 30 more signatures. The rest of the necessary signatures up to 155 are missing. We were also missing them in December" (when AUR had previously mentioned such an initiative, ed.).

Peiu explained that suspension is a democratic tool used in cases of presidential misconduct, but that, at present, the initiative is more of a consultation of supporters. He also emphasized that AUR needs the support of other parties to be able to initiate the suspension procedure.
