AUR criticizes Siegfried Mureșan’s program / The party proposes six solutions to unblock European funds

The Alliance for the Union of Romanians criticizes the Government Program presented by designated Prime Minister Siegfried Mureșan, arguing that the document does not provide sufficient solutions for the delays, bureaucracy, and administrative difficulties affecting access to European funds. AUR said on Sunday, in a statement cited by Agerpres, that the program discusses funding and strategies but does not establish “concrete” mechanisms to ensure that the money reaches entrepreneurs, investments, and local communities more quickly.

The party claims that, in the second half of the European financial framework, delays in launching guidelines and opening funding lines continue to block companies’ retooling and investment projects. In AUR’s view, a government program must specify how these obstacles are removed, within what time frames, and through which procedures access to funding is simplified.

AUR proposes a predictable calendar of calls for proposals, criteria adapted to the Romanian economy, and the simplified digitalization of procedures. The party also calls for administrative sanctions against authorities that delay calls for more than 30 days, the channeling of funds toward production and processing, as well as the establishment of a National Fund for Guaranteeing Community Projects. According to AUR, this would support rural municipalities and producers’ associations that cannot provide the mandatory co-financing.
