Petrișor Peiu, the president of the National Leadership Council of AUR, stated that his party cannot initiate the procedure to suspend President Nicușor Dan, having only 90 parliamentarians, while 153 signatures are needed to trigger the suspension vote. In a broadcast on Prima TV, Peiu emphasized that suspension is not an end in itself, but a necessary step for organizing a dismissal referendum. When asked if PSD could support such an action in the event that it moved into the Opposition, Peiu responded that he does not see PSD in the Opposition, considering that it has consistently voted alongside PNL and USR on all decisions of the Bolojan government. He highlighted that there are no legislative acts in which PSD has not participated alongside the governing coalition, which makes collaboration regarding the suspension of the president unlikely.
